I confess I have all the Game of Thrones books and have only read the first one, but for the first time ever the television production is so magnificently done that I don’t feel that desperate need to read the book because I might miss out on something essential of the story.
So it was that along with a few more million people I anxiously waited for the new season of Game of Thrones. At the end of the episode I looked at my husband and asked, “Imagine if George R.R. Martin had decided to be a politician instead of a writer?”
His ability to create the most complex political intrigue, war and not to mention kill off every character you have to be grateful for little things, like the fact that he’s a writer and not a politician whispering in the President’s ear.
